AUSTRALIA'S FIRST

WHAT IS IN-HOME PET SITTING?

The most comfortable pet care there is — because home is home.

Unlike boarding or kennels, in-home pet sitting keeps your pet exactly where they feel safest — in their own environment, surrounded by their own things, on their own schedule. For pets that are anxious, elderly, or simply creatures of habit, this makes all the difference.

Your Wagly sitter fits around your pet's world, not the other way around. They follow your feeding schedule, your walking routine, your rules about the furniture — everything stays as normal as possible so your pet barely notices you're gone.

This is also the kindest option for multi-pet households. When you have dogs, cats, fish, birds, or any combination of the above, keeping everyone at home means no complicated logistics, no separation, and no pet left behind.

HOW IT WORKS

Book the care that fits your schedule.

Casual daily visits — from 2 hours

Need someone to pop in while you're at work? Our sitters can come for a minimum of 2 hours and stay as long as you need.

They'll feed, play, cuddle, and check on your pets — then send you a photo update so you know everyone is happy before they leave.

Perfect for: working days, short appointments, regular weekly visits, or topping up care during a long day.

Getaways less than 5 days.

You can book multiple visits per day morning/evening if required.

Overnight stays — for trips of 5 days or more

For any booking of 5 days or more, we require an overnight pet sitting arrangement. Your sitter stays in your home overnight, giving your pets round-the-clock company and care.

This is the gold standard of in-home pet care — your pet has a live-in companion for the full duration of your trip, and you have complete peace of mind every single night.

Overnight sitters follow your normal household routine — morning feeds, walks, evening cuddles, bedtime. Your pets won't miss a beat.

You can also book overnight for less than 5 days if required.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

OUT AND ABOUT WITH YOUR PET

Home base. But not home bound.

Just because your pet is staying home doesn't mean they have to stay still. Wagly pet sitters can take your dog for walks, visit the local dog park, explore your neighbourhood, or enjoy a sociable outing in the community — whatever your dog loves and whatever you normally do together.

You tell us the routine and your sitter follows it. If your dog gets a morning walk to the park and a sniff around the block after dinner, that's exactly what they'll get. If your cat is an indoor cat who never goes outside, that's respected too.

Every walk and outing is tracked via our live GPS feature, so you can watch along in real time and know exactly where your pet has been.

What sitters can do on outings: Off-lead exercise in suitable areas · On-lead neighbourhood walks · Dog park visits · Café and community outings · Breed-appropriate exercise for your pet's age and fitness level · Post-walk feeding and settling

WHO ARE OUR PET SITTERS?

Genuine animal lovers. Properly vetted.

Every Wagly pet sitter is someone who loves animals deeply and has the experience to back it up. Some are lifelong pet owners.

Some are studying veterinary or animal science. Some are retired pet industry professionals.

All of them are people who light up when they walk through your front door and see your pet.

Before any sitter takes a booking, they complete our full verification process — identity check, National Police Check, and a review by our team. You can read their full profile, see their reviews from other pet owners, and message them directly before you confirm a booking.

What every sitter profile includes: Photo and personal bio · Years of experience with animals · Types of pets they care for · Services they offer · Verified reviews from previous bookings · Response time · Availability calendar

PERFECT FOR

In-home pet sitting works beautifully for:

Dogs who get anxious away from home

If your dog struggles with new environments, strange smells, or being around unfamiliar animals, staying home is the kindest option. Your sitter comes to them — no stress, no adjustment period, just comfortable familiarity.

Cats and other stay-at-home pets

Cats in particular are deeply attached to their territory. A sitter who comes to your home keeps your cat calm, comfortable, and in their safe space — which is exactly where they want to be.

Multi-pet households

When you have multiple pets, finding boarding for all of them can be complicated and expensive. In-home sitting covers everyone under one roof, in one booking.

Elderly or unwell pets

Senior pets and those with medical needs do best in their own environment with minimal disruption. Your sitter can administer medications, follow specialist feeding plans, and maintain the careful routines your pet depends on.

Puppies and young dogs

Young dogs need regular attention, toilet breaks, and stimulation throughout the day. A sitter who can visit multiple times — or stay overnight — gives your puppy the consistent company and training continuity they need.

Pets with strict routines

Some pets are simply creatures of habit. Their world works when things happen at the right time in the right order. An in-home sitter keeps that routine intact so your pet doesn't even notice you're gone.

WHAT YOUR SITTER WILL DO

Everything you'd do. Exactly how you'd do it..

Each visit includes: Feeding and fresh water at your pet's usual times · Playtime, cuddles, and enrichment · Toilet breaks and garden access · Medication administration if required · Litter tray cleaning for cats · A tidy-up of your pet's space · A photo update sent directly to you · A welfare check on all pets in the home.

Overnight stays also include: Full evening and morning routine · Sleeping in your home overnight · Monitoring your pet through the night · Peace of mind for you every single day of your trip

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand this is a big decision! Hope we can answer some questions here for you.

How long is a minimum booking??

Our minimum booking is 2 hours per visit. This ensures your pet gets quality, unhurried care rather than a rushed check-in.

Can I book just one visit per day?

Yes for trips up to 4 days. For trips of 5 days or more, an overnight booking is required to ensure your pet has proper around-the-clock care.

What if I need care for more than one pet?

All pets in your home are included in a single booking. Just let us know about every animal when you fill in your booking request so we can find a sitter who is comfortable with all of them.

Can my sitter take my dog for walks?

Absolutely. Walking, park visits, and community outings are all available as part of your pet sitting booking. Just let your sitter know your dog's usual routine and they'll follow it.

Do sitters stay in my home overnight?

For bookings of 5 days or more, yes — your sitter stays in your home overnight. For shorter bookings, daily visits are scheduled throughout the day.

How do I know my home is safe?

All sitters complete a National Police Check and identity verification before their first booking. You also control access to your home — most owners provide a spare key or a key lockbox for the duration of the stay.

Can I meet the sitter before the booking starts?

Yes — and we strongly encourage it. A meet and greet before your first booking lets your pet get comfortable with their new carer in a relaxed, no-pressure setting.
