Wag ly, Wedding Chaperone

Your dog is family.

Of course you want them at your wedding.

The problem has always been the logistics — who gets them ready, who brings them, who manages them during photos, who takes them home when things get busy, and what happens while you're away on your honeymoon.

Wagly Wedding Chaperones handle all of it, so your dog is part of your day without any of the stress landing on you or your guests.

Fully prepared & groomed for the day · Ceremony & photo attendance · Guest meet and greet · Taken home after photos · Reception care included · Honeymoon pet sitting available

AUSTRALIA'S FIRST

WHAT IS A WAGLY WEDDING CHAPERONE?

One person. Your dog's entire wedding experience.

A Wagly Wedding Chaperone is a dedicated, experienced pet carer assigned entirely to your dog on your wedding day. They are not a guest. They are not a helper. They are a professional whose entire focus is your dog — from the moment they arrive to pick them up at home, to the moment you return from your honeymoon.

This is not a basic dog minding service. This is a full wedding day experience for your pet, handled by someone who understands both animal behaviour and the unique demands of a wedding environment. They know how to keep a dog calm in a crowd, how to manage them around photographers, how to handle them gracefully during the ceremony, and how to read the signs that your pup has had enough and it's time to head home.

Your wedding day moves fast. Having a dedicated chaperone means you never have to think about your dog. You just get to enjoy having them there.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Everything your pup needs from getting ready to getting home.

Pre-wedding preparation

Your chaperone arrives at your home before the wedding to collect your dog.

They will give them a brush and a tidy, check their lead, collar, and any outfit or accessories, settle them before the journey, and make sure they arrive at your venue calm, comfortable, and looking their absolute best.

If your dog needs a full groom on the day, your chaperone can coordinate this or arrive early to manage it.

Ceremony attendance

Your chaperone brings your dog to the ceremony venue and manages them throughout.

Whether your dog is walking down the aisle, sitting with the wedding party, or simply being present for photos — your chaperone is right there, handling the lead, keeping your dog focused, and making sure they behave beautifully for every shot.

They work seamlessly with your photographer and wedding planner so your dog becomes part of the visual story of your day, not a distraction from it.

Photos and guest time

After the ceremony, your chaperone manages your dog during the photo session and the cocktail hour or guest mingling period.

They introduce your dog to guests, manage any excitable interactions, ensure your dog isn't overwhelmed, and make sure every moment with your pet is relaxed and joyful rather than stressful.

Taking your dog home

When the time is right — and your chaperone will know when that is — they take your dog home.

They settle them in, feed them, make sure they're comfortable, and stay with them for the evening so your dog isn't alone while you celebrate at the reception.

You get to dance the night away knowing your pup is safe, warm, and in trusted hands.

Reception care

While you're celebrating, your chaperone remains with your dog at home.

They provide full in-home pet sitting for the duration of your reception — feeding, walks, playtime, comfort, and company.

No boarding. No kennels. Your dog sleeps in their own bed.

Honeymoon pet sitting

(optional)

When you book a Wagly Wedding Chaperone, you have the option to extend the booking to cover your entire honeymoon.

Your chaperone — the same person your dog already knows and trusts from the wedding day — moves into your home or visits daily while you're away.

By the time you leave for your honeymoon, your dog has a fully established relationship with their carer. No stress. No adjustment period. Just a happy dog and a couple who can actually relax.

BOOKING STRUCTURE AT A GLANCE

Minimum booking: your booking is for the special day, our chaperones do not rush off to any other job, time at the event will be dependant on your dog and yourselves.

After care: Included in the booking the chaperone will take your pet home, feed, and settle them in.

Extended care: If you require extended care our chaperone will stay with your pet on a petsitting basis until the following day.

Honeymoon care: If you require care while on your honeymoon our sitter can continue the petsitting in your home or take your pet to their own for overnight boarding while you are away.

THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU BOOK

WHY THIS MATTERS

Dogs at weddings are wonderful. Dogs without a plan are chaos.

You've seen it happen at other weddings. The dog gets overstimulated. Someone's good dress gets muddy. The dog barks during the vows. The groom's uncle ends up holding a lead for three hours and misses half the reception. Nobody wants that — especially not your dog.

A Wagly Wedding Chaperone eliminates all of it. Your dog is managed by a professional the entire time. Every transition — home to venue, ceremony to photos, photos to home — is handled smoothly and calmly. Your guests get to adore your dog without any of the responsibility. You get to be fully present in your own wedding. And your dog gets a genuinely wonderful day rather than an overwhelming one.

This is the difference between your dog being a beautiful part of your wedding and your dog being a logistical headache at your wedding. One person changes everything.

WHO ARE WAGLY WEDDING CHAPERONES?

Experienced, calm, and completely focused on your dog.

Not every pet carer is suited to wedding work. A Wagly Wedding Chaperone is selected specifically for their ability to work in high-energy social environments, their experience managing dogs around crowds, photographers, music, and unpredictable situations, and their professional presentation on what is one of the most important days of your life.

Every Wagly Wedding Chaperone has demonstrated experience with dogs in public settings, has completed our full verification including ID check and National Police Check, and has been personally reviewed by our team before being listed for wedding work.

Many of our Wedding Chaperones have backgrounds in dog training, animal behaviour, or professional pet care. Some have experience at dog shows and formal events. All of them understand that on your wedding day, they are representing your family — and they take that seriously.

What every Wedding Chaperone brings to your day: Calm, confident handling of your dog in a busy environment · Professional presentation appropriate for a wedding setting · Experience reading dog behaviour and knowing when to intervene · A warm, friendly manner with your guests · A detailed handover briefing so they know your dog's personality, triggers, and needs · Constant communication with you or your nominated contact throughout the day · Discretion and professionalism from start to finish

STILL NOT SURE?

Frequently Asked Questions

We understand this is a big decision! Hope we can answer some questions here for you.

Can any dog be part of a wedding?

Most dogs can attend a wedding with the right preparation and the right handler. During your initial enquiry we'll ask about your dog's temperament, training, and any known triggers, and we'll be honest with you about whether they're suited to the environment you're planning. Some venues, crowd sizes, and ceremony formats work better for some dogs than others — your chaperone will help you think through what's realistic and what will genuinely be a good experience for your dog.

What if my dog gets overwhelmed on the day?

Your chaperone is trained to read the early signs of stress in dogs and will make the call to take your dog home before things escalate. This is exactly why having a dedicated chaperone is so valuable — a professional watching only your dog will always spot the signs earlier than a busy wedding party. You won't even need to think about it.

Do you cater for all breeds and sizes?

Yes. We match chaperones to dogs based on size, breed, and temperament, so your dog is always with someone who has relevant experience.

What should my dog wear?

Entirely up to you. Many wedding dogs wear a floral collar, a bow tie, or a custom outfit. Your chaperone can help fit and manage whatever your dog is wearing on the day. We just recommend making sure your dog is comfortable with their outfit before the wedding day itself.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible. Wedding season is busy and Wedding Chaperone spots are limited. We recommend enquiring at least three to six months before your date to ensure availability and to allow enough time for your dog and chaperone to meet and build a relationship before the big day.

Can my chaperone travel to a destination wedding?

For destination weddings within Australia, please enquire and we will do our best to find a local chaperone or a chaperone willing to travel. For international weddings, get in touch and we'll discuss options.

What if I need to cancel?

Our standard cancellation policy applies. We recommend booking as early as possible and discussing any concerns with your chaperone directly — most situations can be accommodated with enough notice.

What if I have two dogs?

Of course you will want both of them there, our price is per dog. Depending on the dog's size, temperament etc one chaperone will be able to manage both. However if you have two wolfhounds you want majestically standing with you for photos or mingling with the crowd then two chaperones might be what you need. We can discuss this with you on the call.
